PROPULSION & AUXILIARY MACHINERY

Main engines:

The two main engines are MTU model 16V-2000, 16-cylinder, turbo aftercooled diesels with power output of 1.800hp at 2.300 RPM. The fuel injection and other key functions are all electronically regulated.

Engine hour meters indicated 713 hours for the starboard and 704 hours for the por engine.

The engines are coupled to hydraulic gearboxes by ZF Marine model BW 255P, the reduction ratio is unknown. The shafts are flexibly coupled to the gearboxes. Engine controls are ZF electonic single-lever type with synchronizing function. Engine mounts are flexible type and in good order.

Engines are fresh water cooled via raw water heat exchangers. The engine coooling raw-water supply is fitted with large through-hull fittings and good-sized strainers.

Exhausts are water-injected and discharge below water in the engine room, muffled exhaust bypasses are lead aft discharging through the transom.

A manual oil chage pump is fitted to facilitate servicing of engines and gearboxes.

Engine oil and coolant had good appearance and correct level. Engines were checked in operation and no coolant, oil, or fuel leaks were noted.

Generators

Two auxiliary diesel powered generators are fitted in the engine room and contained in sound shield casing. The starboatd generators is a Kohler, model 15 CC F0Z, the port is a Kohler 16 EFOZ. Toht units have a power output of 16 Kva at 220-VAC, 50 Hz.

The hour of operation are recorded as: 1.474 for the starboard generator and 1.568 for the portside one.

Exhaust systems of both generators are equipped with FRP muffler (water-lift type), all seen correctly installed and in good order.

Each generator is equipped with a dedicatd start battery. They can be operated and monitored also from the PC at the steering console.

Hydraulic systems

The bow thruster is hydraulically operated and powered by PTO´s mounted on either main engine. The hydraulic oil is cooled via a raw water heat exchanger.

The system appears well engineered and was seen functioning correctly.

Ameson drives trim and steering is hydraulically operated from PTO´s mounted on either main gearbox.

Watermaker

An idroma watermaker is installed in the engine room. This is a reverse osmosis type with 2 long membranes and both a self-priming feeding pump as well as the high pressure pump bulti into the system. Ther recorded hours of operatin are 115.

ELECTRICALL INSTALLATION

There are two main electical systems onboatd operating at 24-VDC & 220-VAC. The 24-VDC system is supplied by the ship´s batteries. The 220-VAC is supplied by the onboard generator or by shore connection.

Each of the two generators is fitted with an independente 12-volt starting battery. Other 12-VDC equipment is supplied via dedicated converters.

Engine start batteries and ouse/service batteries are primarily charged by a 220-VAC Mastervolt 24-volts / 75 Amps automatic battery charger sited in the engine room. Engine-mounted alternatos provide the charge whilst underway.

A dedicated 220-VAC Dolphin 24 volts / 10 Amps automatic battery charger charges the radio batteries. While a 220-VAC Mastervolt 12-volts / 15 Amps automatic battery charger charges the generator starting batteries.

The shore power inlet is fitted in the boat garage. The AC system is equipped with overload proection breakers for shore power inlets and generators supplies.

Main circuits AC and DC are controlled by a switchboard in the engine room and protected by circuit breakers. All main electrical functions onboard can be remotely operated from a fully integrated computer system with a LCD touch screen at the steering console. The same computer also displays digital gauges to monitor voltage, charging and consumption for both AC and DC systems.

The computer is powered by a dedicated DC-to-AC inverter (500 watt Mastervolt).

All branch circuits, both AC and DC are fuse protected from secondary panels located in each cabin, saloon, etc.

The electrical system as a whole is well executed, and in serviceable condition.

STEERING SYSTEM

Hydraulic steering is available from the single steering position, either by traditional helm, joystick or autopilot.

The hydraulic system is supplied by PTO´s mounted on either main engine gearboxes.

There is an emergency steering system completely independent from the amin steering system. This system, also hydraulic, is fitted with a dedicated emergency steering wheel in the rear of the engine room.

DECK GEAR & AUXILIARY CRAFT

A 24-VDC electric anchor windlass (vertical type) is mounted on the foredeck, controls are available from foredeck "foot switch" as well as had-held remote control. Controls were checked from both positions and the windlass was found correctly installed and to function correctly.

The primary tackle is a Claw type anchor stored in the concealed bow roller and attached to approximately 100 metres of steel chain (14 mm). Anchor and chain appear adequately sized for the vessel and in serviceable order.

Eight stainless steel mooring cleats are fitted on the sides of the deck; two pop-up aluminium clats are fitted to the stern platform. mooring cleats are well sized and soundly attached.

Two 24-VCD Lofrans warping capstans with foot-switches are fitted in the aft deck and function OK.

There is a telescopic pasarelle (aluminium & teak) fitted to the stern of the vessel. When not in use the pasarelle retracts beneath the aft seating arrangement. The operation is electro-hydraulic from a 24-VDC power-pack sited in a locker to port in the boat garage. The pasarelle was tested to function correctly.

Full cockpit enclosure, other exterior protective canvasses, cushions, sunbeds, etc were all seen in servicble condition.

The auxiliary craft, a Novamarine RH 350 RIB, was stowed in the boat garage. The H.I.N. could not be found. The craft is powered by a 120hp Mercury petrol engine fitted with jet drive. The craft has a satisfactory general appearance.

STERN GEAR & SIDE THURSTER

The vessel is fitted with Arneson Surface Drives model ASD15. Steering and trim rams, two for each articulated shaft were inspected.

Surface drives lower and rise correctly and no anomalies were noted. The 6-blade bronze propellers are surface-piercing type.

Bow thruster is installed within a FRP tunnels well bonded to the hull. The bow thruster is fitted with twin 4-blade bronze propellers and in satisfactory condition.

PLUMBING & DEWATERING

Hot and cold water is distributed throughout the vessel by means of a combination of PVC tubing and semi-rigid clear plastic piping. The water pressure is supplied from two 24-VDC electric pumps sited in the engine room.

Hot water is supplied from two 220-VAC immersion type electric water heaters also fitted in the engine room. Both heaters appeared in good order.

Distribution piping, water faucets, and shower outlets are all in good order.

Wate plumbing is divided into two system:

   1. Grey water from sink, washbasins and showers

   2. Black water from toilets

Grey water from owner and crew cabin drain into a grey water tank fitted in the owner´s cabin bilge. Grey waters from the three guest cabins drain into a grey water tank fitted beneath the port guest cabin head.

Both grey water tank are fabricated in FRP integrally to the hull. Their contents are pumped overboatd either manually or automatically by means of dedicated 24-VDC electric pumps. Both grey water tanks are in good order, the two pumps were tested to function correctly. Shore line provisions are in place.

There are five heads in total: four in the aaommodation and one in the crew quarters. All heads are fitted with electric operated, freshwater flushed, marine toilets (Tecma). Toilets were tested and found operating correctly.

All toilets discharge into two black water tans sited at owner´s cabin bilge and beneath the starboard guest cabin head. Owner cabin heads appears to be further equipped with a Y-Valve for direct overboatd discharge.
